Sorry to hear about your problems. Someone will be glad to get this site, they are walk-up only right now. Think he is talking about Topsail in Destin, FL., not NC. Hope you are able to salvage some of your vacation.

We are camping in the Keys the week after Christmas, I guess that extends to the New Year. You have to think way in advance if you want to camp at the popular places. I was only able to get this reservation because somebody canceled.

Why not go a little farther to the Smokies? You would enjoy East TN. North GA will still be hot in the Summer.

We did not know any one who graduated we just wanted to go watch the guys.
Thanks so much for posting those pics. I hope to be there the last of August, but I will know at least one of the guys graduating :B, my son! I think it is so awesome, that you went, just because you could. Our Soldiers are great, and will make you so proud.

I don't understand how they can use your pull-thru to double up sites. If you are paying for a premium pull-thru site, then you should be getting that. I would complain and loudly. Also, if you used a credit card, dispute the charge. We don't normally stay at KOA's. The sites are usually cramped and pricey. There is only 1 that is fairly local that we go to. It is a exception to the usual KOA's.

Country Tonite is good-they have different performers {George Jones will be there in July}, The Comedy Barn, and Dixie Stampede are also good, they also have a Passion Play in Pigeon Forge which we have heard is good, but haven't been there yet. We enjoy eating at The Bullfish Grill-P Forge, Peddler-Gatlinburg, Pancake Pantry-Gatlinburg, and the Apple Barn-P Forge.

Yes, if anyone wants the site, I will let you know exactly the time I will be canceling. Just PM me and let me know you want it. I'm sure it will go fast once I cancel, it's a very nice, private spot.

Huntington Beach State Park
I haven't been to South Carolina in years. We are more of FL panhandle camper. However, I have been looking at this cg. Just don't know anything about the sites. They do have some oceanfront sites for the date I'm looking at, but I have no clue which sites are best. Would appreciate any info from those of you who have been there. Thanks!

Yeah, I really hate to cancel it, but can't go without David, have to have him to pull the 5'er. I guess I could go anyway and take a tent. Just would be great if someone else can use the spot. This is our favorite trip of the year. Sucks that I have to cancel.

Hendeson Beach, Destin, FL Sept. 13
I would rather pull my teeth than cancel this site, but hubby has work commitments, and we can't go that week. I have site 52-truly prime spot reserved for 7 nights starting on Sept.13. The park is full that week, and we can't change sites for the week before for 7 nights. So, I will be canceling, if you would like this spot, PM me, and I will let you know when I will be canceling. This is my favorite spot in this cg, made reservations 7 months ago. I just hope someone on RV.Net will want it, and enjoy it since we can't.

They allow you park in the day use area. You can still take the trolley to the beach from there while you're waiting....
Yes, we've done this, and if your site is vacant when you get there, they will let you occupy it early.

Give my thanks to your son. I was at Ft Benning on a paid recreational vacation compliments of Uncle Sam In July & August of 1966. My best wishes to him for success and safety.
Yeah, when we went for OSUT graduation, my son's Commander told us they had really been living it up at Georgia's finest Club Med. Thanks to all of you. Seth is really loving the military, and I know he can succeed at anything he really wants. He is home this weekend, and I will show him all your comments. They will mean alot to him.
